Congo Blog

All that ive seen and heard about the Congo makes me extremely sad and outraged. That this conflict has been going on so long and yet I am only hearing about it now makes me extremely upset and angry. This information should be spread out. It is only through the spreading of information that can hope be had to start a movement to end this. The only way to truly end this massacre is to get both the government and the rebel groups to negotiate with each so they can unlock Congo's true potential. If these steps are taken, and Congo is rebuilt, it could become one of the richest countries in the world and an economic powerhouse. If the government and the rebel groups step up then the healing can start. The povert can end. The rape can end. The oppression can end

Africa defined

When i think of Africa one thing that comes to mind is the movie Lord of War

The movie follows the story of an arms dealer who does frequent business in Africa. This movie encompasses many of the frequent problems of Africa. It covers the corruption of many of the governments, the child soldiers, the rampant influx of cocaine, the prevalence of AIDS, and the constant fighting of rebel groups against their corrupt government. This movie encompasses the many problems of Africa, but it allowes reflects the medias view of only wanting to see the bad, but never showing any of the culture of Africa and how beautiful the country is.

Peace and Coexistence

I believe that coexistance between Israel and Palestine isn't possible to achieve. Both of them believe that what is modern Israel belongs to them and they will always be willing to fight for what is entitled to them. Neither one will be able to peacefully coexist as long as the other one is still there and there will always be that in the air. I believe that the only way to truly end the unrest in the palestine would for them to finish out their war and the winner in the end will get Palestine. Both of them have such dislike for each other that the only way to settle the conflict may be with, not words.

Nuclear Iran

It is obvious that Iran should be able to advance in nuclear energy. It is the most obvious way to advance as a country and as a culture. Without the efficiency of  nuclear power it will be close to impossible for Iran to even catch up to others as a country.

If any limitations should be placed on Iran or any country it should be at nuclear weapons. All countries should have a red line at nuclear weapons. If all current weapons are deactivated the playing field will be levelded and the threat for nuclear war will be limited.

My red line would be the creation of nuclear weapons. I weaponized Iran would most likely attack either Israel or the U.S.A. and a matter of national security would come to be. In order to stop Iran i would throw sanctions upon sanctions upon them until they could no longer afford to make said weapons and allow complete investigations of nuclear activites

Cyberspace

I believe that the youth will always be able to bypass the restrictions and firewalls set up by the Iranian government. Be it through the use of proxies or even setting up new sites entirely, the Iranian youth will always get through to both each other and the outside world, because the internet in to vast and massive to stop them from doing so.

Social Networking will allow them to spread their thoughts and beliefs both internally and globally, without the fear of punishment from the Regime. With such info spreading so fast it will be impossible for the Iranian gov. to cover up what the population is actually saying and their voices can finally be heard.

Becuase Iranian Internet use is so restricted it makes me realize how much i take my privleges for granted. I get upset when I cant go on a game website at school, yet kids in Iran use sites for more than just pleasure. It really makes me appreciate how little restrictions I have and appreciate my freedom that much more.
